This concept began with a simple goal: to bring more drama and craftsmanship to Prada’s “District” leather boot. Part of Prada’s sneaker line, the original District features clean lines and a classic basketball-inspired silhouette—versatile and easy to wear. But for a piece at such a high price point, the design felt underwhelming. Its resemblance to styles from a certain Portland-based brand doesn’t help either. My remix reimagines the silhouette with elevated materials and bold detailing. It features a bootie-style inner made from warm, puffa-like textile for comfort and seasonal utility. The standout element is a hand-stitched, veg-tan leather heel counter with a branded flap that extends over the midsole—a unique, crafted touch designed to justify its premium positioning.
